Not Much Going On...

Hmm... well family, not much has happened since I saw you less than a week ago, but I'm sure I can come up with something! Well Mom, sorry I didn't watch the debate, I was helping with my friend Jason's birthday get together. He turned 19 yesterday and we had brownies and cake and played games in our basement. It was way fun. His mom sent him a cake, how cute is that? Ok, so I can't figure out how to flip the image, so if anybody knows, let me know how to fix that.
Ok, so a couple of weeks ago for FHE we went to the Bell Tower to bake cookies. There are these four huge lights at the base of the tower and they get hot enough to bake cookies. So we did!
You get tin foil and put the cookie dough in it an cover it top and bottom. Its all very exciting. So here's my "husband" Jay on the left and my "son" JD on the right. Pretty much I have an amazing FHE group. Jay is a really great guy and he's fun to have as the other group leader. I'm jealous because his parents are currently living in Africa and he got to go back there for Thanksgiving. Everybody here, especially in my ward, have really exotic living situations. Jay lived in Russia for 5 years and then moved to Texas. Hmm... go California? JD basically makes my life everyday because he's so funny! He's barely 17 and he's... well there's no real way to explain JD, but he's awesome!

So that's pretty much the update for now. But I'm going Ice Skating on saturday in a cheesy sweater, so I'm sure I'll have some great photos for you after saturday. I love you guys!

Friends

Hello Family,
So I just thought you should know that just because I started this blog doesn't mean that you don't have to talk to me anymore. Just FYI. I still want to talk to everybody on the phone, and Mom, can we please work on the webcam? Thanks.
So I thought that for my next post I would introduce you guys to some of my friends:
This is my good friend Jason Dickey from Maryland. He's probably the most amazing guy I've met since I've been here. Which I know is something you guys have heard about my friend Joseph, but since I've just recently gotten to know Jason, he wins out. He's super easy to talk to, outgoing, majorly athletic, funny, and smart. I love spending time with him!
This is my friend Haley Frischknecht from Las Vegas. She is so awesome. I've really gotten a lot closer to her the past couple of weeks. We get along really great. We talk everyday for hours and we go out to breakfast together a lot. Mom, you would LOVE her. She's a political science major with a journalism minor. She wants to end up working in Washington, D.C. doing anything basically. She worked at the Rally for Romney in Salt Lake a little while ago and she watches the news for fun all the time. She is seriously SO cute, I just love her!

This is my friend Spencer Hatch from Farmington, Utah. He is one of my really good guy friends here. He's a really great guy. Its weird because he is only 17 but he can be more mature than some other guys I know. He studied abroad in London this past summer and absolutely loved it. So it was fun to find that out. He's really excited for me to go.
This is Laura Carter (left) and Marie Chilton (right). Laura is from Boston and knew Allie and Kate (below) before and they were all really good friends. Marie is originally from Ohio, but a couple of years ago moved to Washington. They're both amazing.
These two are my friends Allie Palmer (left) and Kate Hoffmire (right). They are both originally from Boston, but Kate moved to Wisconsin two years ago and Allie moved to southern California about 3 months ago. They are both hilarious and I love them so much. Its really amazing how close you can get to people in such a short amount of time. I'm in Kate's room with Marie, Laura, Allie, Kate, and my friend Courtney (who I don't have a picture of, sorry, a recent close friendship) basically every night just talking. I love them.
This is my roommate Chelsea Smith from Lake Oswego, Oregon and very proud of it. She's so funny. Everybody always asks if we knew each other before because we get along so well. I love her, she's really great. Even though she's looking away, I think this is a really cute picture of us!
The last picture is my friend Miles Mock. He's from Minnesota. He's such a great guy. I love hanging out with him. He was my bodyguard when a bunch of us went to a haunted maze last week. As I'm sure most of you know, I'm extremely jumpy and I get scared really easily, so it was definitely an experience.

So although these are not all of my friends, I'm really tired of posting pictures. So you'll just get some more pictures another time. But my life is going really well and I'm making a lot of friends and having a lot of fun. I really like my classes and I think I'm improving in Italian which is really good because I was getting discouraged there for a little while. But I do love the language and plan on continuing with it. I got a 19/20 on my quiz last week which was nice to see. Psych is difficult, but I'm working on it. But I have a paper due in Art History so I should really work on that right now. Love you all!
